Sleeping Beauty at the Athens Concert Hall


Come out and see The Sleeping Beauty by the Kremlin Ballet Theatre this Christmas at the Athens Concert Hall from 14-30 December. The Kremlin Ballet Theater in Moscow's State Kremlin Palace was established in 1990 by well-known Russian choreographer, Andrey Petrov. Also the artistic director, Petrov maintains classical ballet traditions while at the same time promoting creativity and experimentation. As such, the Kremlin Ballet Company offers a marvelous night at the theater.

From its start, the Kremlin Ballet Company received world-wide recognition and acclaim as a highly professional group with a fine repertoire policy. Establishing its own style whilst maintaining the traditions of classical dance, the Kremlin Ballet was known far and wide. Petrov's theater was known to always boast a mature director's view, courtly decorations and exceptional costumes over and above the outstanding ballet. Petrov was the recipient of diplomas issued by Russia's president for his important contribution to Russian art and culture. He also received the medal of the order issued "For the Great Services to the Native Land", as well as a recognition with a church order of "Saint Prince Daniyl of Moscow", presented to him by Alexei II.

Today, the fine Kremlin Ballet Theater is among the top Russian ballet companies. Their performances are view with the utmost respect by both Russian critics and foreign critics. The Kremlin Ballet company has embarked on many international tours and have met with great success. Performances held by the Kremlin Ballet Company have included: Armsgamer's "Cavalry Halt", Prokoffiev's "Cinderella", Tchaikovsky's "Nutcracker", Minkus' "Don Quixote", Tchaikovsky's "Swan Lake", Gogol's "Nevsky Prospect" and Prokofiev's "Ivan the Terrible".
